Overview
Fort Bend County has not adopted zoning ordinances and does not issue Certificates Of Occupancy; However, Fort Bend County has adopted a County Fire Code and the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office issues Certificates of Compliance for certain multi-family and non-residential developments.
Note that As of October 1, 2023, unincorporated Fort Bend County will utilize the 2021 International Fire Code and Fort Bend County local amendments to the Fire Code.
